Cataract Overview

A cataract occurs when the lens of the eye begins to cloud, causing vision to blur. Within the eye, the lens allows us to focus light and see objects in detail; if this is not functioning properly, clear vision can be difficult. This can make everything from reading to driving difficult.

Cataract surgery is a minor procedure to remove the lens of the affected eye and normally, replace it with an artificial lens. Your eye doctor may use ultrasound energy to remove the cloudy lens or it may be removed with laser technology. When To Consider Cataract Surgery

Cataract surgery is not necessarily needed immediately.
